The rehabilitation project for Victory Square (Piața Victoriei) in Timișoara, designed by our team, won second prize in the international competition organised by the Romanian Order of Architects.
A unique urban space, translated into a dense sedimentation of historical layers, some still visible, others lost in time. The DRS-Architects proposal set out to reflect this significant urban stratigraphy through discreet adjustments and careful modifications of the current status quo — fine adjustments that do not stem from personal decisions and formal affinities, but from a careful reading of the city.
It was a challenge to work on this project and, at the same time, it was a project that inspired us.
